Maxime Decarsin | Nomadic Photographer

Every image I create comes from a real connection. My goal isn’t to build a scene, but to reveal what’s already there: the essence of who you are and the truth of what passes between you.

I chose photo-reportage for its ability to capture raw emotion. I look for what makes something come alive, what’s spontaneous — far from stiff poses and forced smiles. With over 12 years behind the camera, I’ve sharpened an eye for visuals that have character, that tell a story without filters.

For businesses, I translate your brand identity into strong images that carry your message with impact and honesty.

A nomadic photographer, I’ve lived and worked out of a van since 2022. That constant movement isn’t just a lifestyle — it’s a driving force behind my creativity. That freedom gives me an ever-shifting perspective and total flexibility: I blend into your environment to catch the fleeting moments others might miss.

Choosing to work with me means betting on an approach that’s discreet, natural, and unapologetically real.

About

portrait de Maxime Decarsin Photographe nomade spécialisé dans le mariage, famille, entreprise et immobilier de luxe partout en france

My name is Maxime Décarsin. Photographer since 2012. These days I’m nomadic — based on the road, with a regular anchor in Lille, my hometown at heart. I cover all of France, and abroad depending on the project.

It all started when I was 16, in a punk rock band. That’s where I first understood an office job would never suit me — I needed a path where creation stayed possible. Becoming a photographer probably wasn’t a coincidence.

Film came next, during my studies in audiovisual production. It never really left me. An angle, a light, a frame — those films still shape the way I compose an image today.

For me, a shoot is never just a service. It’s an encounter. An exchange where I take in as much as I give. I keep my way of working simple, but I bring a constant standard to it: images that mean something, that speak to a personality, a moment that won’t come back.

If this makes you want to meet me, I’d be glad to.

Ukiyo: An Ode to the Fleeting

Beyond the technical side, my approach to photography is close to a Japanese concept I really connect with: Ukiyo.

Literally, “the floating world.” The idea that everything we live through is fleeting, always moving, and that the only thing that truly matters is the moment as it happens.

In my work, I’m not trying to freeze time artificially, or push you into poses that don’t feel like you.

My job is to navigate that floating world and catch the truth in it — the small details no one else noticed.

For me, a successful photo isn’t a perfect image. It’s one that pulses with the life running through it.

It means accepting that the moment is fleeting, so its raw beauty can be felt fully.
